I have always made books. As a child I used construction paper folded and stapled and lovingly rendered cover art in crayon before writing stories inside. That evolved into a 25 years-plus career in educational publishing that I have since left behind, but I always knew that book-making would enter into my creative toolkit once again. After much behind-the-scenes scribbling, writing, painting, photographing and then some over the past 5 years, I've focused much of my creative energy in 2024 on sorting through all of those seemingly random elements and beginning to pull them together into book form. I envision these self-published, print-on-demand artist's books as a serial, all working together to tell a broader story. The interiors are comprised of a blend of my various practices (including my love of cooking!) and can be seen as a collage of different creative forms, juxtaposed in a way that hopefully conjures new connections.
SOME SAY SHE ARTIST'S BOOK
In my sophomore artist’s book, I weave together the various threads of my practices into something different, something new. Without giving too much away—because with each page turn there is a build and a reveal—the back cover sums up the experience:
“This is not a children’s book, BUT
It is for anyone who still remembers
Or perhaps needs to remember
That feeling
Of an unadulterated imagination
That isn’t actually imaginary, BUT
What is it?
What is the point?
Some say
It’s an art book
Poetry
A weird cookbook
An activity book, because
You can draw in it
(Acid-free ink recommended)
Some say.
It’s baloney
It’s magic, and
They say a lot of things.
It’s all coming from inside…”
This book includes interactive pages and can accommodate a variety of media including writing pens, pencil, colored pencils, and artist-quality markers. Sharpies and water-based media (such as watercolor) are not recommended.

UNIVERSE ARTIST'S BOOK
In my debut artist’s book, I build off of my Universe series, drawing on science and non-religious spirituality to create an open-ended snapshot of the current understandings of the Universe. As much intuitively derived as intellectually designed, the book synthesizes night sky photography, painting, graphic design, and poetry into a concise but intricate package.
Universe invites the reader to wonder about the larger questions, to swoon at the stars, to reconnect with a sense of awe and deeper connection, and at times, to scratch their heads in question. From the introduction: “It’s a 10-piece puzzle, only suggesting the final image and allowing plenty of space for interpretation and evolution. The unillustrated emptiness reflecting back a moment in time, altered by the observer.”

UNIVERSE DOT JOURNAL
The universe is infinite, continually evolving, and so too are your ideas, dreams, thoughts, and seemingly random scribbles. Capture it all here, in a way that is exactly right for you, using this 108-page dot journal. It’s a sketchbook! It’s a planner! It’s a diary! It’s whatever you want to create in the whole-wide-universe! Bookended by the front and back cover art from my artist’s book “Universe” and opening with a quote from Piet Mondrian to inspire you, the sky is literally the limit.
